JOB SUMMARY

The Machine Assembler/Electrician position produces subassemblies and assembles machines according to build and print specifications and work instructions. This position will utilize the operation of hand and power tools, and perform general assembly, drilling and tapping, mounting of brackets, and fabricating and/or modifying details. This individual will verify machine operations prior to shipment and maintain a clean and safe work area.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials

  • Verifies conformance of parts to stock list and blueprints

  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies

  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed components

  • Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications

  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms

  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor

                                                                                 

COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • High focus on quality and customer satisfaction

  • Detail oriented

  • Strong analytical problem solving skills

  • Ability to read blue prints and electrical schematics

  • Proficient in the use of a calculator, micrometer, and veneer calipers

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • PLC Controls and instrumentation experience

  • Hydraulic and pneumatic experience

  • 5 year machine assembly and electrical wiring experience

 

EQUIPMENT USED

  • Hand tools

  • Power tools

  • Measuring equipment

  • Electrical testing equipment

 

WORKING AND PHYSICAL CONDITIONS

Manufacturing Shop Floor, Standing, Walking, and Lifting 50 lbs.
